I feel a month-end pile-on

On BNN, we’ll be watching BlackBerry (John Chen has been leading the company for a year and Amber Kanwar will have an anniversary interview), Sony (on surprisingly strong PlayStation sales), Aegerion (on a disappointing financial report and the on-going saga of its CEO’s involvement in the nasty divorce of a Wall Street investment banker), miners in Burkina Faso (as the government has been dissolved and protestors have burned the Parliament buildings – not a first for unrest in the country), Abbvie on reaction to a positive surprise, TD Bank as the next CEO says the U.S. buying binge is over and Callidus Capital (CBL) on a business update.

The calendar this week is full as is our chase list. There will be 160 S&P 500 companies reporting results. The tally so far, 70% have beat earnings with an earnings growth rate of 7.6% and a negative to positive outlook ratio of 3 to 1 for Q4.
