Power generator TransAlta Corp. reported its second-quarter profit fell 81 percent from a year ago, when the company gained from a one-time tax recovery.

President and CEO Steve Snyder why he's stepping down after 15 years at the helm.

“I don’t think any company should have a CEO in place that won’t be around to what they did, what they recommended and what they supported,” he says.
