Canada’s economic recovery remains on track, although those gains are threatened by the strong loonie, Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney said Thursday evening in New York. In a speech to the Foreign Policy Association, Carney predicted that the U.S. dollar will remain the world’s reserve currency for the foreseeable future. He also warned that managed currencies – such as the Chinese yuan – could hold back the global economic recovery.
